Redesign or move your site without losing Google traffic

A redesign, new domain or CMS switch can wipe out organic traffic. We map every URL, set up redirects and monitor indexing after launch.

Quote and schedule after your brief

Who it's for

  • Site owners planning a redesign or CMS change
  • Businesses moving to a new domain or to HTTPS
  • Online stores restructuring their catalog
  • Companies merging several sites into one

Problems we solve

After the redesign we dropped off page one

Before launch we snapshot current rankings and URLs. After launch we compare indexing and fix issues fast.

Developers changed our URLs and the old ones return 404

We build an old-to-new URL map and set up 301 redirects (permanent redirects), then crawl the whole site to verify them.

I worry the developers will skip the SEO details

We give them a technical checklist: titles, canonical tags, sitemap, robots.txt, structured data. We test it on staging before launch.

I can't tell if everything works after launch

We connect Google Search Console and analytics and watch errors and traffic. You get a report after week one and after month one.

What's included

  • Audit of the current site: URLs, rankings, traffic, backlinks
  • Full URL export with a crawler (such as Screaming Frog) and from Search Console
  • Old-to-new URL mapping table
  • 301 redirects set up without redirect chains
  • Carry-over of titles, descriptions, headings and the copy that drives traffic
  • Developer checklist: canonical tags, sitemap, robots.txt, hreflang for multiple languages
  • Staging review: blocked from indexing before launch, opened right after
  • For domain changes: the Change of Address tool in Search Console
  • Update of the key backlinks you can edit
  • Indexing and error monitoring an agreed period after launch

How we work

01

Audit and snapshot

We collect all URLs, rankings and traffic. We identify the pages you can't afford to lose.

02

URL map

We match old pages to new ones. For removed pages we pick the closest replacement.

03

Developer brief

We hand over the checklist and review the staging version before launch.

04

Launch

We switch on redirects, submit the new sitemap and, if the domain changes, file the address change in Search Console.

05

Monitoring

We track errors, indexing and traffic, fix what we find and send a report.

Scope and limits

  • We don't promise rankings stay exactly the same: small dips after a move are normal
  • We can't guarantee the result if we get no access to staging before launch
  • We don't rebuild the site or design it in this service: those are separate projects

FAQ

How long until rankings recover?

It depends on site size and how much changes. A small site with the same URLs usually settles within a few weeks. A domain change takes longer. We can be more precise after the audit.

What do you need from me?

Access to Search Console, analytics, hosting or CMS, and a contact on the developer side. We also need the list of changes you plan.

Can you join after the site has already launched?

Yes, but it's harder. We recover lost URLs from archives, logs and Search Console and set up redirects. The sooner you reach out, the better.

Do you need to do the development work?

Redirects are set up either by your developer or by us, if we have server or CMS access. We write the rules and verify the result.

Can I pay in stages?

Yes: audit, preparation, launch and monitoring are paid separately. All accounts and files are yours under the agreed terms.

Can we start with a pilot?

Yes. A pilot has a measurable goal, for example zero error URLs and preserved traffic on key pages. We agree on it before we start.
